Thanks to the support of the Queen Anne's County Department of Health Cigarette Restitution Fund Program, we have been able to incorporate tobacco prevention messages in our Grit Fit Kids and No Days Off programs. Our focus is to have small but meaningful touch points with kids and teens on how the use of tobacco affects our health.
"Did you know that smokers suffer from shortness of breath almost 3x more often than non-smokers?"
We follow up by asking the question of,
“How do you think that could impact you as an athlete”?
These impactful messages are just one of the many things we are doing to keep youth away from tobacco products.
